Hi all.........
Hope you all enjoyed the weekend. I was very thankful to be able to share Mother's day with my children and also to spend some quality time with my own Mum which was lovely too. My kids surprised me with some fabulous homemade cards (think my craftiness has definitely rubbed off on them!). With a little help from their Dad they also made me a colourful marbled picture printed on to fabric and then they lined a blank notebook with it, very clever and looks great.
Well, thought I would share the Mother's day card I made for my Mum. It is quite a simple card and I just kept to two colours, cream and white.
I used an 8 by 8 inch cream, scalloped card. I mat and layered some silver mirror card and some white hammered onto my card base.
Using a Tattered Lace 'lacy layers' die set, I cut out the largest die using white card stock. The second and third dies were then used with cream card stock.
For the centre piece, using white hammered card stock, I then cut out and made three roses using a Tattered Lace 'rose' die. I also cut out and shaped three leaves and using the inner part of the leaves, I then added these pieces as 'foliage' to my centre piece.
To complete the card, I die cut the name Mum in white, hammered card stock and shadowed it with silver mirror card from behind. Lastly, I then added four Swarovski crystals to the corners of the card.
Here is the link to the Craftwork Card 'official' blog which I promised as they have now featured some of my projects in their guest feature http://blog.craftworkcards.co.uk/2016/03/guest-feature-rachael-lovell.html
Bye for now and happy crafting!
