Hi everyone, hope you are all having a productive week so far. I have just received my new die cutting machine which has been lots of fun trying it out (any excuse!!!). Its all go, go, go here but loving every minute of it! Here is a Tattered Lace project I have just finished. Here is how the card was made.....
For this card, I used an 8 by 8 inch card. I printed out one of the beautiful 'birdcage' papers from the Tattered Lace Designers Directory USB. Using some black card to mat and layer, I then trimmed the edges of the card to a scalloped design.
Next, I scored the end of the card several times and then folded it into a concertina shape. I attached a piece of card to the back of the front of the card to strengthen the front and hide the concertina part.
For the centre part, I cut a couple of Tattered Lace frames and attached to the front. I then cut two 'with love' sentiments, one in black and one in glitter card. Using the black card, I shadowed the glitter card and attached to front of card.
Next, I carried part of the design to the inside of the card. This can then be viewed from the front of the card also.
I created three roses by hand using white satin ribbon. once attached to the card, I then added a couple of flourishes to them and finished them off using my sparkle pens..
Here, I cut out a Tattered Lace humming bird die twice, once in the patterned paper and once in black. I shadowed the black from behind but did not stick the wings down to give some depth. I also used my sparkle pens to add a bit of appeal.
I created a box for the card and made it co-ordinate by adding a matching panel and bow.
To complete this card, I added a little butterfly, some black ribbon and a bow. I also added some subtle pink organza ribbon to the concertina part of the card which gives a lovely sheen when the light catches it. I then finished up by adding a couple of Swarovski crystals to the flourishes.
I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial and for now......happy crafting xxx
